The search motivation

What it is
An optional tag that sums up why you're searching — the app puts it like this: "Sum up in one tag why you are searching (optional). It shows on your profile as "category · tag" and never filters results." For example: "Studies · mir 2027". It helps the landlord understand your situation at a glance; it doesn't change which listings you see or who sees you.
How to set it
- In your search profile, under the motivation section, tap "Choose hashtag".
- First pick the category that fits best.
- Search the tag by typing (e.g. "mir 2027"). If none of them fits, you can tap "Continue without narrowing it down" to keep just the category, which is a valid motivation too.
- To remove it, use "Remove motivation". You can change or remove it anytime.
Who sees it
It shows as part of your profile to registered people who view it. If the tag names your country of origin, the app first asks for your express consent ("Show your country of origin") and explains where it will appear; you can withdraw it at any time.
If a tag you need is missing
Tegaria curates the directory: we review and publish the tags ourselves, so the list stays short and genuinely useful. That is why you cannot create one.
If yours is not there, tap "Suggest a tag" in the same search box: it opens a ready-written message you can send us over WhatsApp or by email to info@tegaria.com. We add it if it fits the criteria in the Content Rules.
Tags have rules
Tags follow the criteria in the Content Rules: they name the reason for the search, never a personal characteristic. If you see one that should not be there, report it from the tag itself ("Report this hashtag") — how to report.
