# If your account has restricted use

> What a temporary use restriction means, why it is applied, what you can still do, how to file an appeal and when it is lifted.

## What it is

If you break the community rules, we may **temporarily restrict the use of your account**. This is not a deletion nor a permanent ban: **every restriction has an end date** and lifts by itself when that date arrives, without you having to do anything or write to anyone.

## How you find out

In two ways, and both at once:

- **By email**, with the reason, the date it ends and how to appeal. This email reaches you **even with email notifications turned off** in Settings: it isn't a product alert, it's something we owe you.
- **When you open the app**: you are not signed out. You will see a screen explaining the same thing.

## What you can still do, and what you cannot

**You can**: sign in, read your conversations in full and check your deals. None of that is deleted.

**You cannot**, while it lasts: publish or edit listings and profiles, give likes, send messages, leave reviews or contact anyone.

## What other people see

**Nothing about you.** The conversations you had become read-only for both sides, with a notice that says only that: that the conversation is read-only. It does not mention your name, nor that there is a restriction, nor the reason.

We do it this way on purpose: a moderation decision can be wrong — that is exactly why the appeal exists — and telling third parties about it would be unfair to you if it is later reversed.

## Your listings and profiles

They stop appearing in searches while the restriction lasts, **but they are not deleted**. When it is lifted they come back by themselves, exactly as they were. Your closed deals stay visible to both parties the whole time.

## If you think it is a mistake: the appeal

From that same screen you can **file an appeal** so that a person reviews the decision. Tell us in detail what happened, up to 2,000 characters. One tip: do not include personal data about other people that is not needed.

You can file **one appeal per restriction**. We will reply by email:

- If we agree with you, the restriction is lifted and you get your account back straight away.
- If we do not, we will explain why. That decision is final; if you want to give us more information, [write to us](https://tegaria.com/en/help/contact-support).

## When it is lifted

On the date we told you, by itself. You do not need to do anything. You will get a notice in the app and an email, and you will be able to publish, write and make contact as usual again. Your conversations and deals are exactly where you left them.

## If you delete your account while it lasts

**Deleting your account does not cancel the restriction.** While it lasts you will not be able to register again with the same email address or verify the same phone number. Once the period ends, you can register again as normal.
