# Automatic translations

> What gets translated when someone reads your listing or profile in another language, how to see the original text, and what is never translated.

## What gets translated

Tegaria works in Spanish and English. The app frame (buttons, menus, notices) is always in your language; and when you read something another person wrote in the other language, the app **translates it automatically**: listing titles and descriptions, the "about me" presentation of profiles, the profession, the languages spoken and the exchange details, agency descriptions and fees, and reviews with their replies.

Translation happens **only when needed**: if the text is already in your language, it is shown as is, without going through any translator.

## How to spot it, and how to see the original

When you open a translated page you will see the notice "**Translated automatically**" with a "**View original**" button. One tap returns the whole page to its author's language —title, description and the rest of the texts at once— and another tap translates it again. In list cards the text simply appears translated, without a notice; the notice lives in the detail view.

Translations are machine-made and can be wrong. If something important looks off (a listing requirement, a fee condition), check the original before deciding.

## What is never translated

- **Your chat messages.** Conversations are private and are **never sent to any translator**.
- **Proper names**: your name, the agency's name, addresses and area names.
- **The work or study place** on a profile (it is usually a proper name, like "Hospital Clínic").

## On your listing's public page

If you [share your listing with its public link](https://tegaria.com/en/en/help/share-your-listing), whoever opens it —even without an account— can also read it translated into their language, with the same notice and the same link to the original. Only the texts that page shows can be translated.

## Your privacy

To translate we send **only the text**, without your name, your account identifier or any other profile data. The translation is **display-only**: it is not used to decide anything about you or your listing. The result is stored for up to 180 days linked to the text's content —not to your account— so the same text is never translated twice. The full detail is in [Privacy and your data](https://tegaria.com/en/en/help/privacy-and-your-data) and in the privacy policy.

## If a translation is wrong

You can always read the original with the "View original" button. If the issue comes from your own text, **editing it** discards the previous translation and generates a new one. And if you see a translation causing a serious misunderstanding, write to [info@tegaria.com](mailto:info@tegaria.com).
