# Stop seeing someone

> Three ways to say no, from the mildest to the most serious: discard a card, "Don't suggest this to me again", and block the person. What each one does, what the other side notices, and how to undo them.

## Three ways to say no

Not every no is the same, and using the heaviest one for a matter of taste hurts everybody. From the mildest to the most serious:

- **Discard a card** — covers that card only. The other person never finds out, and you can bring it back for 7 days.
- **"Don't suggest this to me again"** — covers that listing, for good: no price drop will ever bring it back. Nobody notices this one either, and you can undo it while the card is still recoverable.
- **Block** — covers the whole person and everything of theirs, both ways. Nobody is notified, and you can undo it whenever you want.

## Blocking a person

Use it when the problem is not one particular listing but the person: you don't want to see them, or be seen by them, or deal with them any further.

**How to do it.** Open the three-dot menu (⋮) — you'll find it on their card, on their full profile and in an agreement's chat — and choose **"Block"**. We ask you to confirm, and that's it. You don't need a verified identity: this is your own protection, just like discarding.

**What it does, exactly:**

- **Everything of theirs stops reaching you** — their listings and their search profile — whether they are a private user or an agency. If it's an agency, all of its listings disappear, not just the one you were looking at.
- **It works both ways**: you stop seeing them and they stop seeing you, so they can't like you either.
- **It withdraws the pending suggestions** between the two of you, the ones that had not reached a conversation yet.
- **It closes your open conversations** as **"Ended"**, just like any relationship that finishes without an agreement: the card stays for about 7 days, the chat becomes read-only, and after that it is archived.
- **Agreements you already closed do not disappear.** They stay visible to both of you; what closes is their chat.

## What the other person notices

**They are not told anything.** No message, no notification, no note inside the app. What they see is your shared cards turning to "Ended", exactly as when a relationship fades out on its own for lack of activity: no reason, no name, and no hint of who did it.

They may work it out, the way people work it out in any messaging app. But nobody tells them, and neither do we.

One thing does stay: **if you had talked, you both keep the 10-day window to review the relationship**. Blocking does not spare you a review, nor take one away from the other side, and since nobody reads anything until it is published, it cannot turn into retaliation — [reviews](https://tegaria.com/en/help/reviews).

## How to undo it

In the app's **Settings**, go to **"Blocked users"**: there's the list, with an **"Unblock"** button on each row. It's the only door, and it has to be: once you block someone they disappear from every place you could otherwise reach them through.

When you unblock:

- **New content from that person reaches you again** as normal.
- **Whatever the block closed comes back, if the card is still alive** — that is, if it has not been archived yet (about 7 days). Your conversation returns to where it was.
- **Anything already archived does not come back.** Past that window, what was closed stays closed.

That list holds **all** your blocks, and each one says where it came from: **"Blocked by you"** or **"Blocked when you reported"**. Both can be undone, but **unblocking does not withdraw a report**: our team keeps reviewing it all the same.

## When reporting is the better move

Blocking is your own decision and it accuses nobody. If what you have is a breach of the rules, the right action is to **report**: [how it works](https://tegaria.com/en/help/report-or-block). A report blocks as well, so there is no need to do both. Reporting over a matter of taste pollutes the signal we use to protect people who really need it.
