# Reviews

> Who gets rated, the 10-day window, why nobody reads your review until it's published, the text check, the public reply and what to do about an unfair review.

## The person is who gets rated

On Tegaria, reviews always rate **the real person** you dealt with — not the listing, not the search profile, not an agency. Rooms change; how you treat people doesn't. That's why your reputation follows you, whatever you do next.

## When you can write one

When the relationship **ends** — and you have **10 days** to do it. While you're still talking there's nothing to review yet.

A relationship ends in four ways, and all four open the window:

- **There was a deal**: you both tapped "Deal agreed".
- **There was no deal**: someone closed the conversation, or it went quiet on its own.
- **A block, a report or a discard** after you had talked.
- **The other side withdrew their listing** while the relationship was still alive.

In every case you must have **actually talked** (at least one message in the chat) and, like every interaction, have a [verified identity](https://tegaria.com/en/help/verify-your-identity). While the window is open, that person's card shows the button to rate them, and the pending-reviews notice reminds you inside the app.

And yes: **you can also review someone who blocked you or turned you down**. That's exactly where a review says the most, and the mechanism below is what stops it turning into a war of reprisals.

## Nobody reads your review until it's published

You write your review and it **disappears from everyone's view**, including the person you rated. It gets published when one of two things happens:

- **the other person writes theirs**: then **both are published at once**;
- **the 10 days run out**: whatever exists gets published, even if it's only one.

Until then it counts towards nobody's reputation and moves no average: if the score shifted the moment you wrote it, that would be a way of reading it. And since nobody knows what you said, **nobody can hit back**. That's why reviews are no longer blocked after a bad ending.

The form reminds you of this while you write, with the days you have left.

## What it contains

- An **overall score** ("Would you recommend dealing with this person?"), 1 to 5.
- **Scores by aspect**: response speed and respect always; if there was a deal, also quality of the information and how accurate the listing was.
- If the overall score is very low, **specific reasons** from a closed list: a one-star rating with no explanation helps nobody.
- An **optional comment** of up to 300 characters.

You no longer choose public or private: **published reviews can be seen by any user inside the app, with the name of whoever wrote them**. They never reach the public web page of shared listings.

## The text is checked before publication

If your review has a comment, the text goes through an **automatic check** before it's published, while nobody can read it yet. The criteria are no secret: they are the [content rules](https://app.tegaria.com/directory-policy.html), and you can read them before writing. **A negative review is legitimate content** — you can give the lowest score and say the dealing was bad; the rules judge the form (insults, personal data, spam…), not your opinion.

If a text breaks the rules, **nobody rewrites it**: it stops being shown, we notify you and the case goes to a person. A withdrawn review can be **deleted and written again** while your 10-day window is still open and the other side hasn't read theirs. And if you believe we withdrew your text by mistake, write to us at **info@tegaria.com**: a person reviews it and, if it holds up, it's shown again.

## Fixing a mistake — and what happens once published

Tap the three-line icon (☰), top left, and choose "My reviews": there you have two tabs, **Written** and **Received**.

A submitted review is **never edited**. If you got something wrong, **delete it and write it again** while the window is still open and it hasn't been published; the form pre-fills what you had written. All of this works even if the original card no longer exists.

**Once published, the review is completely frozen: not even its author can delete it.** That's not an oversight — it's protection for you: if a published review could be deleted on request, whoever wrote it could be pressured into taking it down. If you believe a specific review should be removed, write to us at **info@tegaria.com** explaining why: a person will look into it and, when the request holds up, the review stops being shown and stops counting.

Under **Written**, each review tells you its state: waiting to be published, published, or superseded by a newer one. Under **Received**, only published ones appear.

## Only the most recent review of each person counts

Between two people there is **one live review in each direction**. If the same person rates you again after another dealing, the new one **supersedes the previous one**: it stops being shown and stops counting. Nobody can inflate (or sink) a reputation by repeating the same rating on every listing.

## I don't want to review this person

On the card you can say **"I don't want to review this"**: we stop reminding you, so that name doesn't come back in a notification. If you change your mind, the button is still there while the window lasts.

## Reputation can't be laundered

Ratings are tied to your **verified identity**: deleting your account and signing up again with the same identity doesn't erase the reputation you received. If you delete your account, the reviews you wrote are anonymised (the content is kept, your authorship is unlinked) — details in [Account and data deletion](https://tegaria.com/en/delete-account).

## Replying to a review you received

When a review about you is published, you can answer it publicly **once**: up to 300 characters shown next to the review, with your name, for anyone who reads it. The button is under "My reviews → **Received**".

Think it through before sending: the reply is **final** — it can't be edited or deleted afterwards, just like the review it answers, and the way to have it removed is the same: writing to **info@tegaria.com**. It goes through the same automatic check as comments (while it's being checked, only you can see it), with one difference: a reply withdrawn under the rules **cannot be rewritten**, because there is only one reply. If you believe it was a mistake, write to us and a person will review it.

## An unfair review

Any published review can be **reported** from the review's own menu, choosing the reason: insults or threats, personal data, false content, coercion or retaliation, spam, or other. **A person reviews the report**; on its own it doesn't hide the review or block whoever wrote it.

If the unfair review is one **you received**, you have three paths, and they can be combined: **reply to it publicly** (above) to give your side next to it, **report it** with the flag button under "My reviews → **Received**", and **write to us at info@tegaria.com** with the details. Both the report and the email are reviewed by a person and, if the case holds up, the review will stop being shown and stop counting.
