# Privacy and your data

> What data Tegaria keeps, who sees it, what happens to agreements and closed conversations, what data the help assistant uses, and how to exercise your rights.

## The essentials in one sentence

Tegaria verifies everyone's identity so there's a real person behind every account; your phone and email are **never shared automatically** with anyone, and **we don't sell your data**. This page is a practical summary: the authority is the full [Privacy Policy](https://app.tegaria.com/privacy.html).

## What we keep

- **Account and profile**: email, name, and whatever you put in your search profile or your listing (description, photos, preferences, terms).
- **Phone**: verified, to prove you're real.
- **Verified identity**: verification is done by a specialised provider (Didit) with your ID document and a facial biometric check. These are special-category data and are processed only with your **explicit consent**, given when you start the verification. Your document details are **never shown to other users**.
- **Living preferences**: optional, and everything defaults to "mixed". If you choose "LGBTQ+ space" you may be revealing sensitive data; it's processed only with your consent (by choosing the option) and you can switch back to "mixed" anytime.
- **Payments**: amount, date and your wallet movements. Your card numbers are handled directly by the payment gateway (Stripe): **Tegaria never sees them**.
- **App activity**: your matches, messages, reviews and agreements.
- **Measurement**: internal analytics without advertising identifiers — never for ads.

## Who sees your information

Your listing or profile is shown to other users only when a possible rental relationship applies (the system's suggestions) or when you start one. Your contact details don't travel with it: if you want someone to have them, you write them yourself in the chat.

## The help assistant and your data

When you tap "AI answers", your question is answered with the Gemini API (Google). Along with the question travel the screen you're asking from, this public guide and a **summary of your account's status without identifying data** (never your name, email, phone, addresses, your listing's title or the content of your messages): statements already diagnosed by Tegaria, such as "you have an unpublished listing". If your account has no issues, the only thing that travels is the line "no issues". We use the paid tier of the service: Google does **not train its models** on your queries. After answering, we keep no personal data from the query: only an **anonymous log** remains (with personal data stripped from the text) to improve this guide. Even so, better not to write personal data in your questions: it's not needed to help you.

## Reviews and who reads them

When a relationship ends, each side has 10 days to rate the other. **Meanwhile nobody reads your review**, not even the person you rated: both are published at once when both exist, or whichever exists when the window runs out. If your review has text — the comment, or the reply to a review you received — it **goes through an automatic check before publication**: only that text is sent to the Gemini API, without your name or your account, and the criteria are the public [content rules](https://app.tegaria.com/directory-policy.html). Nobody rewrites what you wrote: if it breaks the rules, it stops being shown, we notify you and a person looks at the case.

Once published, **other users see it inside the app, with your name** — that's what makes reputation useful — and it never reaches the public page of a shared listing. Once published it can no longer be modified **or deleted**: if you believe a review should be removed, write to us at info@tegaria.com and a person will look into it — being able to delete it on request would make it possible to pressure whoever wrote it. Details in [Reviews](https://tegaria.com/en/help/reviews).

## Agreements and closed conversations

- A **confirmed agreement** is durably recorded on both parties' "Agreements" screens: both profiles as they were at that moment (title, photo and, for listings, the price at the time), the dates and the conversation, which continues inside the agreement. It's kept as long as at least one of the two accounts exists: if the other person deletes theirs, they appear anonymised in your registry ("Deleted user"); when the last account is deleted, the agreement and its chat are permanently erased.
- A conversation closed **without an agreement** ("No agreement" or an automatic closure due to inactivity) is archived after ~7 days and **its messages are deleted** at that point.

## If you delete your account

Your profile is anonymised (name, email, phone, photo and document removed; you become "Deleted user"), but for fraud prevention and community safety **not everything is erased instantly**: we keep your verification identity (to stop blocked accounts from coming back), reports together with the block they carry —without the blocked person's name—, the legal audit trail, payment records (up to 6 years, by legal obligation) and your anonymised reputation. The details are in [Delete your account](https://tegaria.com/en/help/delete-your-account).

If your account had a [temporary use restriction](https://tegaria.com/en/help/use-restriction) when you deleted it, we also keep an **anti-fraud mark** that prevents registering again while the period lasts: these are cryptographic hashes of your email address and phone number — never the address or the number itself — and they **expire by themselves** on the restriction's end date. Without them, deleting your account and coming back the next day would be enough.

## Your rights

You can exercise, free of charge, your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction, portability and withdrawal of consent by writing to **info@tegaria.com**. Erasure has the legal limits of fraud prevention and legal obligations. If you believe something doesn't comply with the law, you can complain to the [AEPD](https://www.aepd.es), the Spanish data protection authority.
