# The double like: like, match and chat > What happens when you like someone, when the chat opens, how to use the four queues on your board, and why a conversation sometimes disappears. ## The double like in one sentence You say yes with a like; if the other person likes you back, there's a **match** and only then does the chat open. Nobody can message you without that mutual yes: zero spam. ## What happens when you like The other person receives your like and decides. If they like you back, the match appears for both and you can talk. If not, nothing else happens — they aren't given your identity or your contact details. Liking requires a verified identity: if you haven't done it yet, the app will show "Verify your identity" with the "Verify now" button (it takes about 2 minutes and is done once — [how it works](https://tegaria.com/en/help/verify-your-identity)). ## The card gestures - Swipe a candidate's card to the **right** to like it (green background with a ✓) and to the **left** to pass. The card also has the small "Me interesa" (I'm interested) and "Descartar" (pass) buttons. - **Tap the card** to open the full profile, with every photo and feature. The three-dot menu (⋮) is on the card as well as on the profile, and from it you can report or block that person. - The **"Sent"** tag means your like is waiting for the other person's answer. - With the match, the **"Chatear"** (chat) button appears on the card. - Changed your mind? A pass, a "Sent" like or even a match with no messages yet can be undone from that same three-dot menu — [changing your mind about a candidate](https://tegaria.com/en/help/changing-your-mind-about-a-candidate). - As soon as a match's chat has its first message, passing is disabled and those buttons become **"We have an agreement"** and **"No agreement"**: the way to end the conversation, with or without a deal — [agreements and closing conversations](https://tegaria.com/en/help/agreements). ## The four queues on your board Above your board there's a bar with four counters. Each answers a different question and, when tapped, the board shows **only** that (a line reminds you what you're looking at). To see everything again, tap **"View all"**. - **"N to decide"** — the ball is in your court: someone liked you and you haven't replied, or there's a new suggestion you haven't decided on. This is the queue worth emptying. - **"N unread messages"** — conversations where it's your turn to reply. - **"N matches"** — interest is already mutual. If nobody has written yet, this is the place to make the first move. - **"N of your decisions"** — what you sent and is still awaiting a reply, and what you passed on. The counters clear themselves as you act. If a number is very high you'll see the short form ("+20 to decide"); and if a queue brings more than fits on screen, there's "Load more" at the bottom. ## The chat The chat opens with the match, and writing also requires a verified identity. Your phone and email are **never shared automatically**: if you want the other person to have them, you write them yourself whenever you decide. ## If a conversation or a card disappears The usual causes are: - The conversation **was closed** with "We have an agreement" or "No agreement" — [agreements and closing conversations](https://tegaria.com/en/help/agreements). A confirmed agreement doesn't disappear: it moves to the **"Agreements"** screen in the menu, and its chat continues there. - The other person **hid or unpublished** their listing or search, or deleted their account. - The relationship **expired due to inactivity**: unanswered likes and rejected relationships are archived over time so the inboxes reflect real interest. A match isn't eternal either: if nobody writes the first message within 30 days, or the chat goes 90 days without new messages, the conversation closes on its own. - You blocked that person, or they blocked you. ## Still stuck?
